TMP Outreach

CLOSED: This discussion has concluded.

Our first phase of public outreach included an online open house consisting of informational videos, an interactive map, an online survey, and three Q&A sessions. Through these activities, we learned how you currently travel in Steamboat Springs and where you’d like to see transportation-related improvements. Over the past few months, we have synthesized your input, developed recommendations for projects, and scored and ranked them. Now, we want to know if we got it all right and hear from you!

The planning process is culminating in the creation of a planning document called the Steamboat Springs Transportation Plan. Guided by technical analysis and informed by input from you and stakeholders, we’ve drafted a Transportation Plan document for your review. Following this 30-day period where you can read and comment on the Transportation Plan, we’ll make revisions as appropriate and present the final document to City Council for adoption. Thank you for being part of developing a plan that defines a clear path forward for improving transportation in Steamboat Springs.

Click the following link (https://tooledesign.github.io/B0067_steamboat_springs_tmp/) to read the draft Plan and provide comments on the document. There is an interactive online comment tool that allows users to add feedback directly to the document. Users will have the added benefit of seeing the feedback other community members have contributed. The public comment period for this draft will end on May 14, so make sure to take a look before then.

The plan will also be on an upcoming City of Steamboat Springs Planning Commission agenda on April 22 to provide a formal presentation and request feedback as well as a recommendation to City Council. City Council will hold a work session to discuss the plan on May 11. Formal adoption of the plan is scheduled for July 2021. The Project Team invites all members of the public to be involved in the process and provide comment.

Specific areas of the plan that the project team would like to call attention to is the Implementation Plan section (pages 44-59). This section lays out the order in which projects will be strategically approached for completion. Public feedback is essential to refine and validate this section of the plan so that future city efforts align with the needs of the community. Another portion of the plan to bring attention to are the Recommended Plans, Policies, and Programs (pages 28-34) as these priorities will lay the ground work for the public discussions and more refined plans that the city will consider over the next few decades.
