Brown Ranch Community Workshop - Who Needs Housing?

During the July 23 community workshop, we’ll ask participants dive into new data from a new housing market and demand study. The study is an important tool for the community as we consider how the current housing market is meeting the needs of local community members and what actions are necessary for residents to have access to quality housing. You'll be asked share your own stories than can complement the data and key findings from the study. Finally, we'll use our time together to gather individual and shared priorities for who should potentially be housed at Brown Ranch.

Objective: Address DST members’ questions about the YVHA's new Housing Needs Report. YVHA will also outline their current development projects - all are located at infill locations.

A panel of experts will help the DST Inquiry Team explore the funding and financing tools and mechanisms used by housing authorities, cities, and large-scale developers to close the gap between development cost and affordable home prices, and to finance large scale public improvements.

Deliberation & Stewardship Team (DST) Orientation Meeting
The 40-member DST team will meet for orientation at Police Department Community Room. During the DST orientation the Brown Ranch Community Solutions team will describe the larger project and the role of the DST.
The DST will meet at least once a month between May and August for 3 to 4 hours each. The DST will engage in rich and challenging discussions and healthy debate, supported by strong informational resources and expert facilitation, that creates shared understanding and elevates good ideas for future exploration.
