Consultation has concluded

The City of Steamboat Springs is required to review City Council district boundaries every five years to determine whether boundaries should be redrawn to equalize the distribution of qualified electors.

After analysis, the difference in registered voters between the smallest municipal voting district (District 1) and the largest district (District 3) was 18.6%. Due to the percentage difference being greater than 10%, it was recommended that boundaries be amended to ensure that each district include as nearly as possible the same number of qualified electors.

During the November 15, 2022, City Council advanced the redistricting proposal, and an ordinance will be placed on a future City Council agenda for approval to make the change.

Comments can be made via this site or directly to City Council by email at citycouncil@steamboatsprings.net. In addition, the ordinance authorizing the redistricting will come before City Council for two readings which allows public comment.
