FCI Constructors Selected For Fire Station & City Hall Project

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-June 22, 2022-FCI Constructors, Inc., a Colorado company with more than 40 years of experience, has been selected as the general contractor for the new downtown fire station and city hall facilities for the City of Steamboat Springs.

“We’re excited to have FCI and their team on board for these vital community projects,” said Deputy City Manager Tom Leeson. “FCI has significant experience building fire stations and municipal buildings, brings a wealth of knowledge with pre-construction and project cost estimating and has a long history of working with Davis Architecture/Anderson Hallas and Wember teams. We truly believe the combination of these firms will result in cost-efficient facilities that the Yampa Valley will be proud of and will benefit from for generations.”

FCI Constructors, Inc. is one of the premier construction firms in the Rocky Mountain region and has been doing business in Colorado since 1978. Over that time, the firm has worked on more than 350 municipal projects, 80+ fire stations for nearly 140 municipal and fire district clients, totaling nearly $1.5B in construction. In addition, the company has strong relationships with local subcontractors.

The firm was selected by an internal selection team from a pool of finalists, which were narrowed down after a nationwide request for proposals and qualifications. The company’s history of successfully completing commercial projects for both the public and private sector have earned the FCI team recognition on the Engineering News Record Top 400 Contractor list.

“We know the community well and have a reputation for delivering quality facilities on schedule and within budget,” commented FCI Project Manager Brady Blackmer. “We’re excited to bring our experience and expertise to a highly visible project like this which are lasting investments for the city and its citizens.”

FCI and members of the proposed project team recently completed the $45 million Sleeping Giant School for the Steamboat Springs School District. In addition to that project, the company has completed several other local projects for the School District, Routt County, and the Yampa Valley Airport.

With the announcement, the city has secured the final player in the multi-million-dollar project to design and construct a new downtown City Hall and Fire Station. Built on the current City Hall location (137 10th Street), the facility will create a downtown civic campus housing numerous municipal services in a central site that is easily accessible by citizens.

Over the design, pre-construction and construction processes, an extensive community engagement campaign will accompany the different phases of the project working with the public to create an environment that fosters confidence and trust.
