Share Your Vision For Future During Community Plan Open House

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-May 28, 2024-The door is being swung wide open to share what’s on your mind during an open house on Wednesday, June 5, on the new Steamboat Springs Community Plan. It’s been two decades since the current plan was created, so we’re looking for fresh ideas and perspectives to shape the next twenty years.

“This is the first in a number of opportunities community members will have to share their thoughts, concerns and ideas as we develop a new community plan,” said Principal Planner Brad Calvert. “This plan touches a variety of aspects of importance to many in the community and we really want to hear from as many people as possible so that the plan we come up with is tailored to the needs and values of our entire community.”

The June 5 event provides drop-in hours from 4pm to 6pm, followed by roundtable discussions from 6pm to 7pm at Howelsen Hill’s Olympian Hall (845 Howelsen Parkway).

The open house is a first chance to share input and craft a vision of the future of the Steamboat Springs community.

The conversation will touch upon housing, land use, transportation, economic development, recreation, health & human services, sustainability, and natural resources to name a few.

The new plan will provide the policy framework for regulatory tools like zoning and other policies and programs designed to address current and long-term needs identified during the community-driven process – help us start the conversation about the future today.
