Brown Ranch Annexation Committee Host Town Hall

March 22 Evening Annexation Session Talks About Water & Transit

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-March 16, 2023-The Brown Ranch Annexation Committee will host the first Town Hall covering early topics in the annexation discussion at the Community Center on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

The Town Hall will provide a brief explanation about the annexation process before jumping into the two topics for the session: Water and Transit. City staff will provide insights around the water requirements and expectations for the proposed development as well as anticipated service levels for Steamboat Springs Transit. Yampa Valley Housing Authority (YHVA) will share their hopes and desires for the two discussion areas as it pertains to the annexation agreement.

The Wednesday session kicks off at 5:30pm and is expected to last one hour including presentations and Q&A. Question cards will be available to submit questions as well as a QR Code linking to the EngageSteamboat site. Babysitting and interpretation will be available.

The joint committee is charting the course in negotiating an agreement between the city and Yampa Valley Housing Authority (YVHA) to annex 420-acres of the Brown Ranch into the City of Steamboat Springs.

Public input is being sought on all levels of the annexation agreement and during the Town Hall specifically on water and transit. BRAC is keen on hearing from all sectors of the community and public comments can be made any time through EngageSteamboat.net/annex.

Committee sessions take place in the Carver Conference Room in Centennial Hall, 124 10th Street. All BRAC meetings are live streamed and carried on the city website and YouTube channel. Additional information can be found at steamboatsprings.net/BRAC.

BRAC meeting synopsis’s, agendas, video recordings and other pertinent material is accessible online through the city website, YVHA website and EngageSteamboat.net/Annex. Once the draft agreement is finalized by the BRAC, City Council will review, and additional public comment will be available.
